Sara Lytle-Pinhey is a multifaceted professional known for her creative art series Wonky Felt as well as her impactful role in local government.

In 2018, Sara launched Wonky Felt, an imaginative and playful series of felt art installations that began in her office at Tenth Street Place in Modesto, California. What started as a quirky personal project–a daily display of felt art for coworkers–quickly captured the attention of her community. Through Wonky Felt, Sara brings joy, humor, and creativity to everyday spaces, with her handcrafted designs ranging from seasonal motifs to pop culture references. These installations have been featured in local media, including the Modesto Bee, Modesto View, and Good Day Sacramento.

In her role with local government, Sara plays a vital role overseeing growth in Stanislaus County. She has over 23 years of experience working with cities, counties, and special districts. She is known for authoring an Agricultural Preservation Policy, which received a statewide award for Project of the Year in 2013.

Sara’s work in both art and civic responsibility is grounded in a deep commitment to her community, a love for creative expression, and a desire to make a meaningful impact.
